SCHEDULE FOR THE DIT CONSERVATORY‘S MUSICIANSHIP GRADES 1 – 8 EXAMINATIONS, APRIL/MAY 2018

GRADES 1 TO 3 - Written Examinations will take place in normal class time during the week Monday 30th April - Saturday 5th May 2018.

Please note: If your child is unable to attend his/her normal class time during that week, he/she can sit the exam with another class. Please contact Dr Lorraine O'Connell via e-mail (lorraine.oconnell@dit.ie) by Friday 27th April to make alternative arrangements.

GRADES 4 TO 8 - SATURDAY 12th MAY 2018 - Written Examinations will take place in Gleeson Theatre, DIT Kevin Street.

Grade 4: 12.15–13.45 (1.5 hours)
Grade 5: 12.15–14.45 (2.5 hours)
Grade 6: 09.00–11.30 (2.5 hours)
Grade 7: 09.00–12.00 (3 hours)
Grade 8: 09.00–12.00 (3 hours)

Please note: If you are unable to attend the above main exam session, an alternative sitting will take place on Tuesday 15th May beginning at 18.00 in DIT Conservatory, Rathmines. There is a €25.00 entry fee for this alternative session. Please contact Mary Grant in DIT Rathmines Road to arrange attendance at this exam sitting and to pay the exam entry fee.

Aural Exams

Initial Grade, Primary Grade and Grades 1–3

This assessment period begins on SATURDAY 26th MAY continuing until SATURDAY 9th JUNE and normally takes place in regular class time. It takes the form of a one-to-one session with the class teacher. The class teacher will assign an individual time for each student and the student only attends only during this time. Please note: In the case of bigger classes, the assessment period may begin in the week beginning SATURDAY 19th MAY, depending on class size. You will be informed by the class teacher.

Grades 4-8
Aural exams for Grades 4-8 take the form of a written paper together with a short one-to-one aural component. The written component will take place in normal class time during the week Saturday 26th May - Friday 1st June. The one-to-one aural component may extend into the following week finishing on Saturday 9th June.
